Exploring the settlements and hill slopes around Kostanjevica on foot 

USKOK’S HERITAGE TRAIL – THE BORDERLAND EXPERIENCE, starts at Črneča vas tower,  length – 7km, time needed 2-3 hours, difficulty – easy, suitable for children; guided by a local guide (payable)

Let’s take a walk to the very borderland of Slovenia – a place that separates and joins at the same time. With a local guide  we will start our circular walk along the Uskok’s heritage trail, a path with stunning views, through forests, vineyards and small villages with complex history. We will visit a local wine grower and have a taste of home made wine while exploring the tradition of local wine making. Following the footsteps of Uskoks who settled in the region, we will walk off the beaten track and explore the serene, picturesque countryside.

RESSLOVA WOODLAND TRAIL, starts outside the Žolnir Gostilna in Kostanjevica na Krki, length – 8km, time needed 2-3 hours, difficulty – easy

TRDINOVA TRAIL IN THE GORJANCI HILLS, starts in the car park of the Božidar Jakac Museum, length 23km, time needed 6 hours, difficulty – good path, physically demanding 

TRAIL TO KIČER, starts at Kostanjevica cave, length 6km, time needed 2.5 hours, difficulty easy, but the route can be steep

RUTENSKA CIRCULAR TRAIL, starts at Orehovec football pitch, length 12km, time needed 3.5 hours, difficulty – demanding trail

MOHOR – GRADNJE (Cviček trail), starts at Zavode, length 12km, time needed 4.5 hours, difficulty – easy

ČESTITK TRAIL, Trail length: 4km, excursion duration: about 3 to 4 hours, depending on the programme leader, difficulty – fairly demanding, suitable for children aged over 3 years.
